1. Why do winemakers plant roses in their vineyards?
Because roses get sick before anything else in the vineyard.
Roses and grape vines are susceptible to the same diseases, and roses get sick before anything else in the vineyard. If there’s mildew in the air, it will infect the roses first and give a winemaker a heads-up that it’s time to spray.
