About the Data Internship at Winerist
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for developing and utilising technical data solutions to ensure the efficient receipt, validation, cleansing, transformation and reporting of large and complex datasets. You will use Excel, SQL, Data Analytics and Reporting Tools to analyse datasets and present key information in a clear and concise manner. You’ll validate and correct data files to ensure accuracy, as well as efficiently manipulating large datasets. Additionally, you’ll help to identify robust solutions to resolve any recurring issues and refine existing processes to increase efficiency.
In this entirely new role within a new business area, you’ll have the chance to shape our client’s service offering and contribute to its successful development and growth.
Candidate Profile
The Internship Programme offers an excellent opportunity for penultimate and final year students to gain valuable experience of working in a startup environment at the heart of London. During the 12 week paid placement you will support business development, participate in strategy meetings and elaborate innovative methods to deliver excellent results to our customers. The intern might be invited to join our team on a full time placement; be encouraged to take a hands-on approach and share your ideas freely. You will be supported by our team and will be encouraged to undertake training in specialist analytical software and techniques where appropriate. You will share our passion for delivering great customer service and be dedicated to developing our Data Strategy.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist Intern will:
- be studying towards a related discipline such as: Data Science; Data Analytics; Statistics; Mathematics; Computer Science; Informatics; Machine Learning; Computational Statistics; Data Mining; Operational Research
- be in the penultimate or final year of studies and on track to achieving a 2:1 degree or higher
- be flexible and eager to work in a startup environment
- be happy to work independently as well as part of a team
Individuals with practical experience of applying analytical techniques to real world data would have an advantage, including one or more of the following: linear or logistic regression, decision tree analysis, time-series analysis, t-tests, histograms, ANOVA.
The internship will start in mid July and last for 6 months with the possibility of extension into a full time contract.
