McGuigan Torode Adelaide Hills Tempranillo 2017

15 Jun, 2018

The infamous Neil McGuigan and John Torode have teamed up to craft this Adelaide Hills take on an old world favourite: Tempranillo.

A medium to full-bodied wine, with a zippy acidity and dry, youthful, grippy tannins, making it a match for even the most well-versed wine connoisseur to get a handle on!
An abundance of blackcurrant and black plum dominate the fragrant bouquet, with a subtle vanilla thread and faint liquorice note playing pivotal supportive roles. An earthy palate, pliing one’s senses with dark fruit, yielding to a subtly medicinal and exquisitely long finish.
All in all a youthful, exuberant, well crafted wine, but ultimately requiring 12-18 months bottle ageing to mellow a little.
83/100.
