Independence Day Cocktail Suggestions

04 Jul, 2014

As the US celebrates one of its most favourite holidays today, 4th of July, we have put together some suggestion for Independence Day cocktails! These will go perfectly with great weather, a nice BBQ and of course fireworks!

1. Campari Cocktails

Our favourite probably for this occasion. Not only because it brings back memories from our Italian trips where having a campari cocktail is the perfect way to start the evening. Or wrap up the afternoon!

These were inspired from the Food & Wine Magazine and there are over 10 ideas to choose from. Our favourite one is the Campari and Sweet Wine combo. We have made it with Campari and Prosecco, Squeezed orange, a lemon slice and nectarine slice. It’s a bit out of the box, but it’s very refreshing!

And another one…Abou-Ganim introduces the Serrano Cocktail (which is named after James Beard award-winning chef Julian Serrano). With vodka as its backbone, this drink is a delightful combination of Campari, limoncello and fresh orange juice. Try it with a batch of homemade limoncello for extra citrusy brightness.

Named after Lynchburg, Tennessee, the hometown of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery it is one of US’s most popular drinks today and throughout the year.  This can also be made into a great Summer Punch mixing 1 part each whiskey, sweet & sour and triple sec with 4 parts soda in a punch bowl garnished with lemon wedges and a generous amount of maraschino cherries.

Preparation

1 ounce Jack Daniel Tennessee Whiskey

1 ounce triple sec

1 ounce sour mix

4 ounces Lemon-Lime soda

Pour the whiskey, triple sec, and sour mix into a glass filled with ice.Add the soda and stir really well. Use a jar for the wow factor!
