INTERVIEW WITH PAUL

When did you decide that you have a passion for wine?

Almost immediately! I remember drinking red wine with my parents – just a sip – i thought it to be a revelation. I also loved sharing red wine and chocolate ice-cream with my mum. Not conventional, of course wine is about having what you like – in moderation, or least so I am told.

What are the key highlights of Bordeaux and when is the best time to visit?

Bordeaux is splendour, incredible real-estate and a stunning city; tours and chateaux visits are wonderful all year round. That said Bordeaux is at its most beautiful from May until harvest which is August/September, when the vineyards are rippening in the summer sun.

Do you have a personal favourite Chateaux in the region and if so why?

The splendour of Chateaux Margaux is unparalleled. The wine offers a delicate femininity, that any man or woman would find hard to resist!

Finally, which wine region in the world would you like to visit next?

Mendoza would most certainly be at the top of my list. But there are so many I would like to visit and now there is Winerist to see them all!
